Interactive Lecture and Workshop [online]
What happens to our objects when they are no longer useful?
That broken bench, that concluded exhibition, that invalid signage?
Designers are often hyper-focused in the creation, ‘how-the-thing-is-made’ dominates - but to design truly sustainably ‘what-happens-afterwards’ is super important. Design for Disassembly is a design process which considers the end-of-life at the beginning, and this interactive lecture and workshop introduces these concepts using a hands-on method. Led by Nadine Smith, a lecturer in sustainable design and architecture, learn how to approach design using a sustainable creative process. Suitable for designers, architects and curious folk alike (adults only, sorry kids).
What you need: paper, scissors, tape, pens/pencils, a packet of smarties (or other coloured sweet of many pieces!) and a little imagination…
