The 2021 Davidson Prize Exhibition: A digital showcase of architects’ solutions to ways of living in a post-pandemic world

09 June - 30 June

The Davidson Prize presents a virtual exhibition showcasing the shortlisted, finalist and winning entries for its inaugural edition. Set up in memory of Alan Davidson, the pioneer of architectural visualisations, the prize rewards transformative ideas for architecture of the home and reflects Alan’s strong belief in the power of design to improve happiness and quality of life. Responding to the theme of Home/Work, entrants imagined innovative solutions for living and working in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The exhibition, designed and developed by Hayes Davidson using real time 3D tool Unreal Engine, features a broad range of concepts including community-based solutions; biophilia, natural light and wellbeing; retrofit and modular solutions for the separation of work and living; and the occupation of in-between spaces.

The jury comprised Alison Brooks, Thomas Heatherwick, Michelle Ogundehin, Narinder Sagoo and Sonia Solicari.

The exhibition will launch following the finalists presentation and awards ceremony on 09 June 2021, as part of the LFA.

The exhibition will be hosted online with free access to everyone. Donations to the Alan Davidson Foundation will be welcomed. The Foundation looks to support a wide range of causes linked to MND research, care and initiatives that benefit those with disabling neurological conditions.
