In February 2021, Future Architects Front (FAF) shot into the architectural press as they launched a campaign highlighting the exploitation of junior architectural staff in UK practices. Their open letter to the RIBA gained over 1800 signatures and demanded a meaningful response from our industry representatives.
Sarah Wigglesworth Architects (SWA) wanted to show their support and found out that next on the FAF agenda is education and the pathway to qualification. They are of course aiming big, looking at how to bridge the gap between university and practice.
Can architectural education support a diverse group of people to practice architecture in way they love, whilst also addressing global issues of climate and equity? FAF and SWA invite you to join us for an event which explores a range of alternative architectural narratives for young people in our profession and considers ways that this might be achieved.
