Seeing our circular city

22 June - 30 June

13:00 -19:00

Buildings shape our cities and how we live, work, and play, but they have a significant environmental impact. A circular economy can radically change the construction sector to reduce waste, keep resources in use and support the sustainability of our cities.

London is home to excellent circular construction projects, from buildings that can be taken apart to transformed and re-imagined spaces. But these can be invisible to passersby, who miss the exciting ways the city is becoming regenerative.

As part the Circular Construction and Regenerative Cities (CIRCuIT) project, funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 programme, Grimshaw Architects and ReLondon invite you to try an augmented reality experience in the recently transformed Hackney Depot. No longer used as staff facilities, the space remained empty and derelict for nearly 25 years. Today, it has been given new life as a makerspace and event venue.

This app can be accessed on any mobile device. By simply scanning a QR code you can explore the building wherever you are.
