Tunnel Visions – A new gateway for Nine Elms

07 June 2021

12:00 -13:00

Join architecture studio Projects Office and local historian and creative writer Hilaire to learn more about the transformation of Arch 42 - a historic railway arch which will become a new public route through Nine Elms.

Projects Office, a multi-disciplinary architecture and design studio, won the Arch 42 Gateways competition organised by London Festival of Architecture and Wandsworth Council.

Chaired by Tamsie Thompson, the panel will be joined by Cllr Ravi Govindia from Wandsworth Council to discuss the designs, local history research and community engagement that has helped shape the new gateway. The finished Arch 42 will open to the public later this year, connecting the new Northern Line Extension with housing, businesses, roads and the river.

This project is part of Wandsworth Council’s infrastructure investment across the Nine Elms regeneration area, taking care to maintain historic assets and increase public access to spaces and routes that were previously inaccessible.
