The Bauhaus in Grove Park: Grove Park Youth Club and it’s role in Britain’s Social Architecture – Open House

19 June 2021

10:00 -17:00

Grove Park Youth Club (GPYC) was built in 1966 by the London County Council architecture department, and is a product of a historically important era of progressive civic buildings by the LCC that include the Hayward Gallery, Michael Faraday Memorial and Crystal Palace National Recreation Centre.

In 2013 with GPYC closed and earmarked for demolition due to austerity, residents started a campaign to save the building.

Today, following eight years of dedicated community campaigning, GPYC is almost ready to reopen its doors as a 21st century Youth Club & Enterprise Hub
