The Davidson Prize presents a live event over zoom to celebrate the finalists of its inaugural edition.
Hosted by this year’s judges Sonia Solicari, Director of Museum of the Home, and Narinder Sagoo, Senior Partner at Foster & Partners, the three finalists will present their proposals which respond to the theme of Home/Work: A New Future.
The three finalists were chosen from an 18-strong shortlist which proposed new ideas for living and working in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and were each given £5,000 to develop their proposals further. The 2021 finalists are:
– Com-View-Nism by NewNormal (Pliarch, Studio Yume, Whitby Wood, Mirko Nardecchia, Crowd
– HomeForest by HomeForest (Haptic Architects, Squint/Opera, LionHeart and Jingyuan Meng)
– The Antipody by Origin 3 Studio
Following the presentations, the winner will be announced and awarded the £10,000 prize and the online exhibition showcasing the shortlisted entries will open its virtual doors.
The event is free, however donations to the Alan Davidson Foundation will be welcomed. The Foundation looks to support a wide range of causes linked to MND research, care and initiatives that benefit those with disabling neurological conditions.
