Forms of Industry: Online Architectural Photoday

13 June 2021

10:00 -16:00

Join us for this online workshop for a day of photography exploring our changing attitudes to mass production and sustainability, through the contemporary photographs of Alastair Wiper and archival images of Eric de Mare. This workshop is part of LFA 2021 and will be incorporating themes of care.

Learn about architecture of the functional tradition and how the exhibition’s photographers approached these monumental architectural forms. Be inspired to interpret the functional world around you by making a set of photographs for group review. Finish the photo day having learnt new ideas and practical skills for representing architecture through its image.

With guidance from architectural photographer Anthony Palmer you will be given a tool kit of how to explore themes of care for the environment, architectural scale and the industrial. We will have a break to enable independent photography in your local area and report back to share images with the group in the afternoon.

An introductory recording from the curators of the exhibition Forms of Industry, Justine Sambrook and Rodrigo Orrantia Gomez, will be sent to participants prior to the workshop. Rodrigo will join us on the day and there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the exhibition.

This workshop is created in connection with the event In Conversation with Alistair Philip Wiper on Friday 11th June 2021.
